The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is seeking applications for the position of UAS Sitka Campus Director. Sitka is a remote island community in beautiful Southeast Alaska, located in the traditional territory of the Lingít peoples. This campus is one of three that make up the regionally accredited University of Alaska Southeast. Through its extensive online programs and local classes, the Sitka Campus serves students across all of Alaska and beyond, advancing its mission of student learning that is enhanced by faculty scholarship, undergraduate research and creative activities, community engagement, and the cultures and environment of Southeast Alaska. The Sitka Campus is an Alaska Native Serving Institution, with a student body that is culturally and geographically diverse, including local learners in Sitka and online learners from across the state.The Sitka Campus offers a wide range of courses, including those for career development, occupational endorsements and certificates, and a variety of academic courses for associate and baccalaureate degrees. Flagship courses of study include mariculture, welding, clinical health, health information management, diving, northwest coast Indigenous arts, ceramics, science, and dual-enrollment high school courses in a variety of subjects. The campus regularly offers in-person classes, and a majority of Sitka Campus students attend via distance, with many of our programs available completely online.The Director position oversees the supervision of all staff and faculty at the Sitka Campus and provides leadership in developing and implementing innovative learning and advising strategies to promote student success. The Director also provides outreach and collaboration with community partners, including employers, public entities, and tribes and Native corporations. Additionally, under the direction of the UAS Provost (chief academic officer located in Juneau), the Sitka Campus Director works with UAS deans and directors to collaborate on regional academic and administrative strategies, and holds budget authority for the Sitka Campus. The Director provides leadership and vision for the campus in alignment with the UAS mission, the strategic and assessment plan, UA Board of Regents policies, and university regulations. The Director also assists in promoting philanthropic giving and alumni engagement in support of campus programs and services.The UAS Sitka Campus Director must be dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment at the University of Alaska Southeast. Successful applicants will have strong leadership skills, encompassing knowledge of the challenges facing students, staff, and faculty in rural and remote areas. Applicants will have a profound commitment to improving equitable access to resources and opportunities for all individuals to reach their full potential, recognizing the importance of cultural safety and belonging for present and future success.Required (Minimum) Qualifications:A minimum of a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution; or a bachelor’s degree with industry credentials equivalent to a master’s. A minimum of five years of progressively increasing leadership and/or administrative responsibilities within an organization.A minimum of three years’ experience engaging collaboratively with partners at other organizations.Position Details:This position is located on the Southeast Alaska campus in Sitka. This is a full-time, Senior Administrator position complete with both a competitive salary and
