Responsibilities

Position and Division DescriptionThe Department of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is seeking a Pediatric Rheumatologist to join our practice. We are seeking applicants for a full-time Clinician or Clinician Educator Position. Responsibilities primarily include ambulatory care in our Rochester MN clinic and shared call for inpatient coverage. Current satellite clinic expectations are one half day per month. Teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and scientists rotating through clinic is also expected.The faculty member will join a long-standing distinct Division of Pediatric Rheumatology within the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. The division is composed of two Pediatric Rheumatologists, two dedicated nurses, administrative staff, prior authorization team, clinical scheduler, and a part-time research coordinator. Our pediatric rheumatologists provide coordinated care for children and families primarily from the upper Midwest. However, Mayo Clinic is a destination for complex patients throughout the United States and globally resulting in regular exposure to rare pediatric disorders.We offer an onsite infusion center as well as dedicated weekly conscious sedation time for procedural sedation. Bedside ultrasound is available for experienced rheumatologists for diagnostic evaluation and guided injections in clinic or procedure room. Training is available for interested faculty lacking formal training. Strengths of our program include combined Rheumatology/Infectious Disease recurrent fever clinic and genetics consults reserved for our division on a research basis assisting in genetic test ordering, prior authorization completion, and test interpretation.Investigation in clinical, translational, or basic science is encouraged as are active roles in education or departmental leadership. Integration of adult and pediatric services within one institution offers abundant opportunities for intramural funding, mentorship, epidemiologic databases, clinical trial unit, grant review, manuscript review, as well as collaboration with clinical, basic, and translational scientists throughout the Mayo Clinic enterprise. Qualifications

Candidates must be board certified / board eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology with the American Board of Pediatrics and be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Minnesota.
