The Administrative Assistant II position provides primarily administrative support for a Systems Administration Supervisor/Associate Director in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology and will work under the day-to-day direction of experienced technology professionals in the Basic Science departments at both Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses. The individual also serves as a department liaison to UCSF IT Center regarding campus computing services, IT service requests, security incidents, etc. for all 5 Basic Science departments.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $25.72 - $36.59 (Hourly Rate).Department Description
The School of Medicine's Basic Science departments are a crucial anchor of UCSF's research efforts. Their faculty's unparalleled commitment to, and curiosity about, understanding the underpinnings of biology holds promise for far-reaching impacts on human health. The departments are Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology & Immunology, Biochemistry & Biophysics, and Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology.Required Qualifications
High school education/GED and three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to complete all tasks with detail and precision.Experience with prioritizing and multitasking.Proven ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and perform as part of a team.Excellent demonstrated record of attendance and reliability.Ability to use good judgment and discretion, and work independently under the pressure of multiple deadlines.Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, and critical thinking.Proficient in the use of technology.Be a flexible team player who can easily work with focused direction and deal with a changing scope of work.Preferred Qualifications
Excellent computer skills and familiarity using different operating systems as well as office applications (including Internet and e-mail, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Familiarity with UCSF Systems such as ServiceNow, HBS, Bearbuy, MyExpense, Connexus, Adobe Suites, Drupal.Familiar with some scripting and programming languages like Python and PHP.About UCSF
