Job Description:The RoleAs the SAI (Strategic Advisers) Data Chapter Leader, you blend deep data expertise & a passion for the craft of software engineering with a strong ability to coach, mentor, and develop associates.

You are deeply committed to improving the value delivered to our customers. In an agile structure, you will collaborate with other leaders to establish the standards for your chapter, influence the strategic decisions, and build solutions in your expertise. You will directly lead a team of chapter members who work within autonomous squads but report directly to you. You are committed to helping them grow and develop in their knowledge area and ensure alignment on the "how" of the work they perform. You are comfortable with supporting your team by being hands-on when you need to be but primarily focus on enabling and empowering your team in blazing their own trail. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role.

This position can be located in Boston, Merrimack.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Minimum of 10 years of Data Engineering and Development experience

BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent experience

Proven successful experience as an engineering coach and mentor as well as developing emerging leaders to their full potential

Strong technical proficiency with data technologies including structured and unstructured data, relational databases, data movement including batch and messaging, RESTful APIs

Competency with Spring / Spring Boot and Angular front ends

An advocate of software engineering as a craft

Experience planning development of team capabilities; identifying and acquiring strategic talent needs

Experience resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations

Financial services experience in Asset Management preferred

The TeamThe Data Services & Compliance (DSCO) domain with Asset Management Technology provides core and common data engineering & investment compliance capabilities to the breadth of Asset Management.

This Chapter is focused on Data as a primary competency, however, we have a combination of data, middle-tier, and UI engineering resources that provide capabilities to Strategic Advisers. We work on a wide variety of technologies including AWS, Oracle, Snowflake, Angular, Java, Spring Boot, Python, REST/API, Kafka, and Tableau. Our goal is to democratize data, and we strive to enable effective consumption of high quality, trusted data sets that are used in all phases of the investment process.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
