Quotient Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately held, early-stage company developing a novel genomics platform and therapeutics for diseases with a large unmet need.

Position Summary

Quotient Tx is seeking a talented and highly motivated Principal Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry with relevant drug discovery experience to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to design and execute medicinal chemistry strategies that will support biology validation and drug discovery from hit finding to lead generation, lead optimization and candidate selection. The successful candidate will work closely with Quotient's Leadership Team and scientists to rapidly advance drug discovery programs to IND and early clinical studies. They will be comfortable working in and contributing to a highly dynamic and cross-functional team environment. The ideal candidate must be independent, open-minded, goal-oriented, have excellent communication skills and work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Discover and advance novel chemical entities (small molecules, protacs, molecular glues) into clinical development

Define, implement, and execute on medicinal chemistry strategies from hit ID to lead generation, lead optimization and candidate selection

Provide strategic, scientific, and managerial leadership to external CRO med chem teams

Serve as project and chemistry lead for drug discovery programs

Collaborate with the IP team to create and execute strategy to establish, protect and expand intellectual property

Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate effectively within cross-functional teams

Effectively present and communicate research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences

Job Qualifications

Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant drug discovery experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry

Experienced in all aspects of medicinal chemistry including use of tool/probe compounds, hit ID and follow-up, hit-to-lead chemistry, and lead optimization to candidate selection

Broad background in all aspects of drug discovery, including SBDD, physicochemical property-driven optimization (MPO) and computational chemistry

Working knowledge of structural biology, ADME/PK, in vitro assays, and in vivo pharmacology

Experience in managing and building strong relationships with chemistry CROs

Demonstrated success in leading medicinal chemistry and projects teams to deliver high quality compounds into development

Experience in oligonucleotide drug discovery is a plus

Track record of delivering on project and company goals

Ability to accommodate to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines

Excellent communication and project leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team setting

Proven track record for striving for a high level of innovation and scientific excellence
