Job Summary:As a strategic member of the executive team, the CTO/Vice President of Engineering will help lead aPriori to the next level of growth. This leader will be the technology partner to help develop aPriori's vision and strategy for growth. They will leverage the strategy and vision to build, mentor, and guide the engineering team to its full potential. The CTO/VP of Engineering will drive the fulfillment of our product vision through excellence in execution and partnership with other senior leaders across the company, translating technology capabilities into strategic business results.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Given your keen interest in staying abreast of new and emerging technologies, apply that knowledge to help the business drive the strategic vision, as well as present new opportunities to expand that vision through technology innovation.

In partnership with other members of the company's executive team, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company's cloud-based service, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to the business success.

Participate as a member of the senior management team in establishing governance processes to ensure that corporate objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately, and the organization's resources are used responsibly, particularly in the areas of software development.

Be the leader in technology trends to identify those that may support or impede the success of the business.

Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms (including web application frameworks and the deployment stack) for delivering the company's cloud-based service.

Lead technical strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services.

Provide leadership to drive the recruitment, development, and performance of a globally distributed engineering team.

Build and foster a culture of engineering excellence and accountability capable of producing and guiding a best-in-class engineering process with a focus on team, quality, agility, trust, and timely delivery.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee and participate in the development, delivery, and transformation of platforms & products by establishing and consistently executing product strategies in alignment with a dynamic product roadmap.

Possess expertise in developing modern, large-scale data engineering using cloud-native architectures.

Lead the development of resilient, high-performing, highly secure platforms that can absorb large amounts of data.

Have experience working in and leading an Agile software development organization in a continuous delivery paradigm.

Have prior experience scaling infrastructure.

Be able to communicate the company's technology strategy to investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders.

Be able to share knowledge, mentor, and educate the organization's investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders on the company's technological vision, opportunities, and challenges.

Have excellent technical communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with employees across all levels of the organization.

Have a track record of effectively aligning engineering practices with organizational strategy to deliver business results.

Be skilled in implementing incremental and forward-looking technology strategies.

Drive accountability for outcomes supported by key metrics to drive repeatable, quality, predictable deliverables.

Have successful experience leading engineering teams for products with significant algorithmic depth core to the solution.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Have experience managing teams of 200 people or greater.

Drive modern engineering principles and practices by implementing relevant techniques, processes, and best practices.

Establish and maintain metrics, goals, and quality standards with an emphasis on data security.

Form partnerships with key functional and senior leaders from across the organization.

Have the technical skills to ensure developers, cost modelers, and QA staff to guide detailed product design and technology issues.

Have strong external communication skills to engage with customers and prospects as part of product planning and support efforts as well as lead.

Be able to contribute to broader business planning discussions at the executive team level.

Have experience with AWS.

Education and Experience:

15+ years of experience in software engineering with a minimum of 7-10 years in a senior technical leadership role.

Experience working at a B2B SaaS company.

Experience with leadership in growth-stage environments.
