OverviewAARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP’s millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.The Market Research Manager

conceptualizes, develops, conducts, analyzes, and presents primary and secondary market research to develop insights that inform business decisions/strategies and product development. Assesses market trends, databases, and competitive intelligence. Develops insights and recommendations based upon market knowledge and research results. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline consumer insights processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department.ResponsibilitiesLeads, manages, and reports on deliverables for the organization and/or internal clients and providers, including lines of business, emerging business/business development, and customer support (CSG/CX).Develops and manages the overall research plan/agenda for the portfolio of work and develops and manages specific project work plans and budgets.When appropriate, develops requests for proposals, selects vendors, works with procurement on SOWs and contract creation/renewals, and proactively manages work of vendors, including fielding, delivery, and presentation.Advises clients, stakeholders, and senior management on all phases of research, from conceptualization to recommendations for research methodology/use of secondary research resources, to recommendations for action growing from the research findings.Manages and collaborates on research with broad impact, and synthesizes the complex array of data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.Successfully manages complex and conflicting relationships among multiple stakeholders.Conceptualizes and designs complex research projects for providers, including those with high-risk or innovative methodologies, and highly constrained timelines and resources.Selects the most appropriate data sources or data collection methods (for primary research or secondary research pulls and analyses) that maximize the value and utility of the research across the organization and with the goal of building and aggregating a base of knowledge around their issues. Represents ASI’s research with external audiences including other departments, the organization, and providers.QualificationsBachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in business and market analysis. A degree in a finance or business-related field is preferred.Proven experience in conducting industry overviews, market scans, and competitive intelligence.Expertise in financial modeling and business model analysis.Excellent presentation skills, with a track record of presenting to executive audiences.Strong critical and analytical thinking abilities, with proficiency in applying quantitative and qualitative skills to solve business problems and make informed decisions.AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.Additional RequirementsRegular and reliable job attendance.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships.Independent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions.In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.Hybrid Work EnvironmentAARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions.
