Junior IP, Life Sciences, Associate Attorney

to join their Intellectual Property team in

Louisville, KY . This position is ideal for candidates with a passion for patent preparation and prosecution in the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in a relevant scientific field and have two years of hands-on experience in patent law, particularly within the life sciences industry. The attorney will be responsible for working on cutting-edge scientific technologies and contributing to the protection of intellectual property for clients in the life sciences sector.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the life sciences field, particularly focusing on biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and chemical sciences.Conduct patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate analyses for clients.Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and business professionals to develop effective IP strategies.Perform legal research and stay updated on recent developments in IP law, especially as it relates to the life sciences industry.Provide counsel on IP-related matters, including patent strategy, portfolio development, and litigation support.Prepare legal documents, including responses to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) actions.Participate in client meetings, providing technical expertise and legal guidance.Assist senior attorneys in handling complex IP cases and advising clients on IP protection and commercialization strategies.Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution within the life sciences sector.Strong knowledge of U.S. and international patent laws and procedures.Prior experience working with patents in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or related fields.Education:

An advanced degree in

chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemical engineering , or a related field.

Ph.D. preferred.A

Juris Doctor (JD)

degree from an

ABA-accredited law school .Membership in a State Bar in the United States, preferably with eligibility to practice before the USPTO.Certifications:

Admitted to practice law in the United States.Skills:
