Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced IP, Life Sciences, and Patent Agent to join their team in Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences patent preparation and prosecution, with an advanced degree in a relevant scientific field. This role requires superior academic and work credentials, excellent writing skills, and a passion for intellectual property law.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to life sciences, particularly in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemical engineering, and related fields.Conduct patentability assessments, prior art searches, and freedom-to-operate analyses.Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop intellectual property strategies and portfolios.Draft responses to office actions and work closely with patent examiners.Maintain current knowledge of developments in intellectual property law, particularly in the life sciences field.Conduct due diligence reviews for patent portfolios in support of mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.Provide technical guidance on patent issues, including licensing, technology transfer, and patent litigation.Advise clients on matters related to IP protection, infringement risks, and patent enforcement strategies.Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in life sciences patent preparation and prosecution.Proven experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-stakes legal environment.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented law firm setting.Education:

Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.Certifications and Licenses:

Must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Must be a member of the Bar in the United States and good standing.Skills and Competencies:

Exceptional writing, communication, and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex scientific and legal issues.Proven ability to develop and implement effective IP strategies.Proficiency in patent law, with a deep understanding of life sciences-related patent landscapes.Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team-based environment.Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.Job Location:
