What you'll do as the Business Development Representative:
Generate new accounts using various prospecting methods including cold-calling, in-person, email, and referralsMeet with customers, shippers, receivers, and present solutionsBuild trust and rapport with a prospect through expertise and dialogueProvide tailored solutions that provide value and drive long-term business relationshipsStay current with market trends and competitor actions for strategic planningUnderstand and research your prospects business, pain points, and solutionsDetermine and negotiate competitive rates for quoting and securing freightProvide realistic pipeline and revenue forecasting for new and existing businessRespond to, and manage, RFQ/RFP requestsTravel for networking and business expansion as neededDrive strategic partnerships for revenue growth, increase profitability, and collaborate across departments to enhance customer experience
What you'll bring to the Business Development Representative role:
Some professional experience preferably in a sales roleAbility to identify what a prospect needs by asking the right questionsBasic understanding of problems prospects frequently experiences and solutions you would recommend for solving those issuesAbility to work well with a teamResults-driven and self-starter attitudeBasic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Excel
