This role will support the overall operations of the department by organizing, implementing, and maintaining the volunteer program at the branch level. Travel to Faribault, Albert Lea and or Rochester required for this role.*This is a regional position that may require up to 60% travel to various sites. Essential Job Functions/ResponsibilitiesAssures volunteer program is in compliance with agency policy and procedure. Meets Medicare and NHPCOs standards for compliance and agency goalsAssists in the interviewing and selection process for new volunteers to fill vacancies and build a teamOnboard and train volunteers while providing a welcoming and supportive cultureAssess volunteer needs based on discussions with various departments, encourage staff to use volunteers as feasible, and develop new volunteer programsEnsures the delivery of all volunteer services are in accordance with the patient's plan of careManage and place volunteers in appropriate assignmentsEnsure patient privacy is met in compliance with HIPAA regulationsEnsures volunteer personnel files are maintained and current on all volunteersProvide ongoing assessments and support the needs of the volunteer with regular interaction and encouragementProvide recognition and celebration of volunteers to grow retention and volunteer engagementReports all grievances/complaints made by patients and families to the Manager of Volunteer Services and assists with follow upProvides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer servicesParticipates as needed in the budget preparation for program developmentActively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activitiesAll other duties assigned by Manager of Volunteer Services The above statements are only meant to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.Experience in recruitment and onboarding a plus Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer servicesDemonstrated ability to work well with an interdisciplinary teamStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multitask, handle interruptions, and manage projects independentlyUnderstands hospice philosophyAbility to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needsMust be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
