Our Lamar office in Buffalo, New York, is now hiring a new Account Executive (salary + commission) to help us bring innovative outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in Buffalo, NY and the surrounding areas.

The purpose of the Sales Account Executive position is to meet and exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory by promoting and selling outdoor advertising to qualified advertisers. An Account Executive is expected to use professional sales techniques, build relationships, and develop long term relationships that grow sales for Lamar Advertising.

This is not a remote position. 100% in the office.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or EquivalentCurrent and Valid Driver's LicenseCollege Degree preferredPrevious Outdoor Advertising sales experience preferredCRM experience preferredMinimum 2 years media sales required

Major Activities

Meet and exceed sales targets and monitor personal sales data and reportsTarget businesses within assigned territory/account list and visit each established Lamar client and our competitors' clients within specified time frameIdentify potential growth areas, open new accounts and increase Lamar's market share by selling all products - Posters, Bulletins and Transit (where applicable)Become proficient in the use of Lamar computer tools to locate Co-op prospects, follow-up on HotLeads, prepare proposals, and researchPrepare written presentations, reports and proposalsBecome an active team member of Lamar and the advertising communityDevelop presentation skills utilizing computer tools and present to clients on a regular basisMaintain accounts receivableContinually develop new product knowledge and acquire better selling skillsKeep abreast of competition - particularly newspaper, radio, TV, cable, and online advertisingActively participate in sale meetings, regional meetings, seminars and trade shows

Self-Organization

Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans a month in advanceMaintain a professional sales appearanceUse sales tools and complete daily planner/sales program after each call and at the end of the dayMaintain organized up to date records of clients and sales activity

Time Management

Minimize travel time and maximize time in the field with clientsTravel overnight when necessaryUse the Lamar Sales Support Center and the Multi Market Coordinators to sell multi Lamar marketsCluster accounts to work them geographically and manage your time effectively

Administrative

Maintain client profiles and be prepared to submit daily planners/call reports, sales plans, forecasts and expense reports on a timely basisFollow-up on all client production orders and ensure campaigns begin and end as the client requested. If any problems arise, AE will communicate immediately with the client and manager to find a solutionAgree to check lights etc. on a regular basis when called uponOperate within your expense budget

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The primary work environment for this position is a combination of an office environment and work in the field making sales calls and servicing existing accounts.The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, talking, turning, and walking.Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10%.
