is a Charter Management Organization (CMO) supporting schools in the Bronx, NY and Stamford, CT. Our programs are based on a proven, nationally recognized model, which originated in our flagship school, the Bronx Charter School for Excellence, a National Blue Ribbon School.Our Mission and VisionOur schools prepare young scholars to compete for admission to and succeed in top public, private, and parochial high schools by cultivating their intellectual, artistic, social, emotional, and ethical development. We accomplish this by offering a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum, which at the earliest of grades has an eye towards college preparation. Qualified candidates must demonstrate records of achievement, high degrees of personal responsibility, and the drive to do whatever it takes to ensure that every child achieves academic success. This individual must be committed to excellence, lead by example, and see collaboration as a key component of success.Responsibilities:
Manages and automates school systems.Supervises and coaches all operations team members and non-instructional staff.Manages School Information Systems (ATS, PowerSchool, Illuminate, etc.).Manages Lottery Management System (SchoolMint).Manages School Lunch Program & is responsible for the free and reduced-price meal eligibility program at the school.Plans trips, coordinates events, including Saturday Academy.Manages the busing program, schedules, and transportation requirements for eligible scholars and handles all incidents.Plans and executes pre-opening plan for the building each year, including classroom assignments, furniture moves/ordering, key distribution/collection, punch list, etc.Manages all relations with the School Nurse, health and compliance screenings.Manages relationships with external vendors.Coordinates with the finance department for purchasing and billing.Builds impactful relationships with staff, families, and all constituents.Maintains an accurate inventory and systems related to inventory management.Conducts annual and semi-annual performance evaluations.Compiles and reports.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher with concentration in Business, Project Management or another relevant field.Minimum of 3 - 5 years of professional experience, preferably in management or leadership of the operations, finance, and/or administration of a nonprofit organization.Previous charter school management experience preferred.Experience with and commitment to improving the quality of urban education, specifically for scholars who have been traditionally underserved.Preferred Experience and Attributes:Advanced degree in Business, Management, or Finance.Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector.Experience may include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and facility management.Familiarity with relevant nonprofit regulations, insurance and liability issues, compliance, etc.Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.Technologically savvy, with an ability to develop and implement new processes and systems that increase learning and efficiency.Flexible and a self-starter able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission of the organization.This is a 12-month position and therefore does not follow the same time off schedule as the instructional staff at our schools.Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range: ($80,000-$110,000).Health Insurance, dental, vision & 403b Retirement Plan.Vacation/Paid Time Off/Paid Sick Leave/Parental Leave/FMLA.Short-term, Long-term Disability benefits and Life Insurance.
