Position Summary Information

Job Summary/Basic Function

About This Role:

The social networking Specialist will report to the associate director of creative services and collaborate with university marketing staff. The person in this role will understand the big picture on how technology can be leveraged to support university and aligned marketing communications goals. The candidate is responsible for digital marketing content engagement and demand generation including building, managing, and regularly optimizing digital marketing campaigns and managing all university social media accounts. The candidate will oversee the methodology, testing, analysis and reporting of digital campaign performance and communication of results.

What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:

Manage all Lamar University social media accounts across various platforms, including those for the University President

Research and develop strategies to engage the Lamar University community and public by creating content calendars for all social media platforms

Maintain and enforce the university’s social media policy to ensure all social media accounts align with university branding

Analyze social media trends and track modern technologies

Assist in direction of content creation and collaborate with marketing team to ensure all digital campaigns align with university branding.

Assist with the set up and optimization of digital ad campaigns to promote Lamar University to target markets.

Measure and report on performance of digital marketing campaigns.

Manage google ads and google analytics to deliver strong campaigns and report on key insights for performance improvement.

Support digital marketing strategy with marketing research, testing, target research and segmentation, etc.

Partner with web communications team to ensure Google Ads are reaching full potential

Key Competencies:

Proficiency in using social media advertising platforms. ·

Passion for digital and driven by curiosity

Solid understanding of digital marketing fundamentals and methodologies.

Expert level knowledge of Microsoft office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift 15 pounds and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.

Job Conditions:

This role is primarily office-based, with occasional requirements to attend events or capture media at various campus locations.

The position involves managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, necessitating a high level of organization and flexibility.

Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications-related field

At least 1 year of marketing experience.

Strong individual initiative with the ability to thrive in a team environment.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Eagerness to learn, grow, and consistently excel.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in data analysis with a talent for making data-driven recommendations.
