POSITION SUMMARY
It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Worker to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues for various manufacturing machinery.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitors the preventative and corrective maintenance needs of various equipment types.
  • Reads and interprets equiment manuals and work order to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Completes all work orders including preventive maintenance work.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Repairs and replaces wiring, equipment and fixtures using various hand and power tools.
  • Performs troubleshooting on downed equipment and maximize run time.
  • Communicates with the Maintenance Team Members, Maintenance Supervisor and/or Corporate Engineer to troubleshoot more complex issues and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Foods (SQF) policies and maintain superior plant cleanliness.
  • Adheres to all safety practices including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follows all established company policies and practices.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to use equipment/tools are including, but not limited to the following: hand tools, grinder, forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, plasma, torch, bandsaw, pipe threader, lathe.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently use hands and fingers to operate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls: and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to (ocacasionally) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, using proper bending and lifting.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, depth perception, color determination, hand/eye coordination, and hand/eye/foot coordination and the ability to focus.
  • Other required abilities include reading, calculation, measuring, planning, interpreting, explaining, compiling, and communicating verbally.
