Salary: $165,000 - $185,000 per year

We are a US-based defense and space manufacturing company that works to solve the most challenging applications for our clients in the industry.

We are looking for a Controller to add to our team! You will be responsible for assisting with all financial aspects of the business and the focal point for financial planning and analysis, cost accounting and profit and loss statement control, ensuring compliance with all Policies and Procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This position is a hands-on, working manager with individual contributor requirements, as well as leadership and management responsibilities.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the financial operations of the manufacturing unit, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  2. Develop and maintain budgets, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.
  3. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  4. Conduct financial analysis and projections to support strategic decision-making and provide insights into business performance.
  5. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
  6. Manage the ERP system, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to develop strategies for improving operational efficiency and profitability.
  8. Conduct regular financial audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  9. Provide financial guidance and support to the management team, including the preparation of financial presentations and reports.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
  2. Minimum 2+ years leading/developing a team.
  3. Strong background in product Cost Accounting (standard cost system) and experience in plant accounting/finance systems including a strong understanding in the relationships with ERP systems and the P&L and how to utilize the use of Excel.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance requirements. A track record of improving internal controls and ensuring compliance with SOX regulations is highly valued.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
  6. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
