Development Director
The Development Director is responsible for the implementation, management and evaluation of fundraising efforts including special events, donor development and grant writing in accordance with the standards set out by the organization. He/she works within the guidelines, policies and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned. The position will be based in the organization's administrative office in the Buckhead area of Atlanta and reports directly to the Executive Director.

Lead, manage, supervise and hold direct reports accountable. Facilitate the weekly team meeting effectively. Hire, fire, review, reward and recognize the team that works at the community center. Evaluate direct reports through quarterly conversations and annual reviews providing constructive feedback and continuing education opportunities.Fundraising
Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive fundraising plan including specific strategies for leadership giving, annual fund, and institutional fundersUtilize a moves management framework to direct work with individuals and institutional fundersProvide excellent high-touch stewardship to all constituentsExercise discretion in handling confidential donor informationEngage in planning and implementation of special events including Annual Gala, Volunteer Breakfast, Volunteer events and board-hosted social eventsWork with Board Fundraising Committee to leverage board relationships and acquire resourcesBudget and Finance
Set and meet fundraising goals developed in partnership with Executive DirectorManage fundraising budget and create forecastsDeliver regular reports to Executive Director and board on progress toward goalsCommunications
Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan to drive engagement with key stakeholder groups (donors, volunteers, and community)Deepen and refine all aspects of communications with support from the Communications Director, from web presence to external relations, with the goal of creating a strong brandQualifications
Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred)Razor's Edge experienceAbility and passion for building relationshipsAbility and comfort level in soliciting and closing giftsStrong communication skills, including public speaking and writingSkill in exercising discretion and independent judgment with regard to management tasksExcellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple demandsExperience working with people of diverse backgrounds, including children, and people of diverse culturesFamiliarity with the metro Atlanta philanthropic community and local funding sources desiredAbility to work flexible hoursBilingual is preferredHiring Location:
