Monday - Friday / weekends requiredJob SummaryThe Head Tennis Coach/Director of Tennis is responsible for planning, developing, and managing the operations of a Division I men's and women's tennis program within Chicago State University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Job title is negotiable based on experience.Job DescriptionProvide leadership, direction, and overall administration for the development, coordination, and implementation of programs, activities, and professional services.Formulate, initiate, implement, and interpret policies relating to the operation of the units.Establish goals and objectives for the department/unit.Direct the staffing by overseeing recruitment, training, and management of work assigned to professional and support staff.Oversee financial aspects of unit management, including control of the budget and allocation of resources.Interface with advisory committees, serve on campus or University committees, communicate and consult with other offices or campus officials when appropriate.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree, plus three years of collegiate or professional coaching experience.Preferred QualificationsMaster's DegreePrior Head Coaching ExperienceDivision I Coaching ExperienceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesCandidates must possess and/or demonstrate the following core competencies: accountability, attention to detail, budgeting and fiscal management, communication, compassion, conflict resolution, customer service orientation, dependability, developing others, diversity management, drive for results, flexibility, functional/technical skills, impact and influence, integrity, problem solving, self-management, student service delivery, teamwork and collaboration, and vision.
