The Data Centers Cloud Architect is responsible for the design and health of Expeditors' public and private cloud environments. As a member of Data Centers, the Cloud Architect will design and support Expeditors' hybrid cloud environments, that are critical to the support of Expeditors software development, business and global operations. The Cloud Architect leads the evolution of the Expeditors hybrid multi-cloud environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Be a collaborative member of a highly motivated and agile teamRepresent cloud technologies and methodologies in architecture leadership discussionsStay abreast of new technologies, concepts, and approachesInteract with people more than systemsProvide technical leadership by coaching and mentoring cloud engineering staffTranslate business requirements into designs for cloud solutionsDevelop and maintain industry standard best security practicesDevelop and deliver professional proposals and design documentationDevelop and communicate standard operating procedures and functional design specificationsDrive standardization and automation into all aspects of the cloud platformCommunicate with providers of cloud technologies on a regular cadenceThis position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent communication and presentation skillsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skillsAbility to translate business requirements into functional requirements for cloud designPrior experience in designing a cloud platform with multiple data centersExtensive knowledge of Azure, GCP and AWSExperience with on-premises Virtualization (VMWare) environmentsExperience leading teamsStrong knowledge of OS and cloud platforms (i.e. Linux, Windows, Azure)Skilled in DevOps processesKeen attention to detailRelevant certificationsDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Windows and UNIX operating systemsExperience with third party vendor managementExperience and knowledge of IT operations that includes networking, identity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governanceStrong understanding of how databases, networks and other critical IT functions workApplicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not transfer or sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (such as an H-1B visa) for this opportunity.

Additional Information

Expected base salary: $165,000 to $240,000
