About Us:Visit Berkeley is the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) dedicated to promoting and developing Berkeley as a premier travel destination for visitors, businesses, and events. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to join our team and work full-time from our downtown Berkeley offices.Summary:The Sales and Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting a wide range of Visit Berkeley (VB) programs, initiatives, and campaigns. This position requires a strong understanding of the tourism industry, exceptional organizational skills, proficiency with multiple technology platforms, ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and a team-oriented work style.The successful candidate will support VB’s sales and marketing programs and partnerships. We are a small team, and tasks may involve additional areas of operations. Our goal is to drive economic impact to our hotels, tourism-related partners, and the Berkeley community. This position works in conjunction with all team members and reports to the Director of Marketing and the Director of Sales & Strategic Partnerships.Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):Provide administrative and logistical support to the sales and marketing team, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and preparing sales materials.Assist in the development and execution of sales and marketing campaigns, including market research, competitive analysis, and promotional materials.Manage and maintain Visit Berkeley’s CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and providing regular reports.Work with the Director of Sales & Strategic Partnerships to coordinate sales calls, trade shows, and industry events, including logistics, booth setup, and lead generation.Proficiency and familiarity with the city of Berkeley and the East Bay in general to effectively market the destination to visitors.Handle visitor information requests, whether in person, telephone or by email.Responsible for maintaining the robust event calendar on VB website with tourism related festivals, events and performing and cultural arts.Assist in Visit Berkeley projects such as Berkeley Restaurant Week, onboarding of Marketing Partners through our Destination Guide, and partner socials.Assist in the development and management of marketing and sales collateral, including brochures, digital media, and presentation materials.Collaborate with external partners to understand their sales and marketing objectives.Provide excellent customer service to clients and partners.On occasion, may be required to travel to industry association tradeshows, meetings and events.Perform other duties as assigned by the DM, DSSP, and President/CEO.QualificationsMinimum of three years of experience in a sales and marketing role, preferably within a Destination Management Organization.Strong understanding of the tourism/hospitality industry and sales processes.Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Additional RequirementsNon-hybrid position requiring full-time on-site presence.Willingness to travel as needed for industry events and client meetings.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume, cover letter, and three professional references to
