Job Title: Director Procurement, Divisional Lead
Location: Somerset, NJ
Position Summary:
Responsible for leadership of procurement sites, sourcing and procuring materials, services and capital for multiple sites. Lead site procurement teams and initiate and foster relationships with site stakeholders, establishing and prioritizing activities for their site teams to achieve objectives and results. Work closely with other regional directors, the GPO, key support departments, and critical stakeholders across the company.
The Role:
Ensure site procurement is engaged and aligned with internal customers/stakeholders, gaining stakeholder and leadership support across the sites.
Utilize sourcing and category management processes across sites to understand the business requirements, build the portfolio of purchasing projects and develop sourcing strategies aligned to stakeholder needs.
Identify opportunities, synergies, and risk mitigation across sites to drive procurement value creation.
Develop pipeline of opportunities (savings, cash flow, growth, other value), representing local, regional, and global initiatives.
Ensure annual procurement budget (savings, cost avoidance, inflation) are met.
Integrate with GPO, including Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Capital, CSR/D&I, and PMO to ensure regions are aligned with GPO initiatives.
Actively participate in building and/or delivering Op Mech, QBR, and other site procurement updates and messaging to stakeholders.
Design, socialize and implement a regional procurement organization, in alignment with the GPO Roadmap and Divisional strategic needs.
Execute succession planning and talent development for key positions.
Ensure sites are utilizing tools for net cost monitoring, reporting, and communicating procurement progress.
Minimize impact of supplier shortages by proactively identifying and resolving potential material supply issues, timely communication, collaborating with Supply Chain for inventory build, and proper escalation.
Demonstrate expertise in the engagement and utilization of sourcing and procurement tools including RFx’s, contracting and scorecards/reports/communications, etc.
Ensure that site procurement teams drive compliance to Procurement Policies and Procedures.
Prepare regional annual sourcing plans linked to annual profit plans in order to maximize value contribution, drive improvements and minimize risks.
Conduct business in an ethical and professional manner to ensure avoidance of all actual and potential conflicts of interest.
The Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain or comparable disciplines. Masters preferred; Industry certifications a plus
Minimum of 10 years of progressive international experience in a procurement leadership capacity
Working knowledge and experience of procurement and best-in-class practices, principles, process, tools and methodologies
Can demonstrate the successful development and implementation of sourcing strategies
Clear knowledge and understanding of supply market, industry and category dynamics
A successful track record leading and managing complex negotiations
Demonstrates strong business judgment and critical thinking to create and evaluate innovative options and uses a fact based decision making process to develop and implement strategies that will drive positive results and deliver value
Possesses a strong working knowledge and experience in key procurement areas including:
Capex
Commodity trading
Insourcing/Outsourcing analysis and assessment
Cost Modeling/TCO
Legal and Contract law
New product development and sourcing
Effectively assesses risk and implements mitigation plans to either prevent or minimize impact to ensure business continuity
Capable of technical and commercial assessments and appraisals of potential and existing sources of supplies
Expertise in supporting Supplier Management and Category Management programs
Strong analytical skills including financial management and metrics
Understands the key business drivers and requirements to build and sustain sourcing strategies and best in class procurement processes and practices
Has a proven track record of engaging and working with stakeholders to understand business requirements and gain support for the development, approval and implementation of procurement and sourcing strategies
Demonstrates strong analytical skills including and understanding and application of financial analysis tools
Keeps abreast of key market information, trends, and innovations needed to continue to drive excellence
Direct knowledge of Enterprise Resources Planning software and procurement systems and their functionality
Demonstrated leadership expertise and the ability to interact with all levels of management and Associates.
Ability to build and lead functional/cross-functional teams across a region of sites.
Understands and has experience in successfully managing change initiatives
Experience and success as a facilitator
