Director of Finance
Position Overview:
This position has responsibility for the financial affairs of the Albers Aerospace Industrials Vertical, comprised of multiple business units. The Director of Finance is expected to either execute personally or through subordinates all activities required to maintain a GAAP/FAR compliant general ledger and timely submittal of all corresponding regulatory reporting requirements.
The position must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the highest level of ethical conduct without exception. The Director of Finance is a critical member of the organizations management team and acts as a partner to the Business Unit and Vertical President, as well as the Albers Aerospace CFO and E.V.P. Finance.
This position will help drive results by providing timely accurate financial insight and analysis as well as establishing company accounting policies and procedures that ensure continuous improvement at the local level.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversees all financial affairs of the business unit
Ensure strict adherence to all company ICFR’s (Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting)
Develops external and internal financial statements as required, accompanied by the appropriate level of analysis
Monitors business performance metrics and provides Sr. Management with variance analysis of actuals compared to budget and prior forecast
Uses Financial analysis to recommend cost control/cutting measures to improve profitability and cash flow
Leads the annual budget process by collaborating with other functional areas
Identifies & recommends new accounting software for improved performance and efficiency gains as appropriate
Performs complex financial analysis as needed
Acts as the primary financial point of contact between the business unit and Albers Aerospace Corporate Headquarters
Leads Accounting department process improvement initiatives
Prepares and/or reviews all indirect rates used in pricing efforts
Prepares and/or reviews all customer proposals
Leads internal, external, governmental audits and regulatory reporting requirements as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA strongly preferred but not required
Ten plus years progressive accounting experience (DoD experience a+)
Strong Cost Accounting Background
Three to Five years of supervisory experience
Strong analytical and research skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Sound understanding of GAAP (FAR knowledge a+)
Strong Business acumen
Proficient in MS Office suite
Advanced MS Excel
