Director, Logistics & Supply Chain

Lead the development, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of parts and equipment inventory management throughout the Tech24 enterprise. Manages the optimization of critical assets such as tools, buildings, and other capital equipment. Provide critical thought leadership and methodologies regarding analytical models, simulations, processes, and tools for driving improved performance throughout inventory lifecycle. The incumbent will be laser focused in search of opportunities to build cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable relationships with key vendors and suppliers for parts, equipment, shipping, logistics, et al.

Acts with high attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Fosters a collaborative team environment and a strong service-oriented culture. Operates in a fast-paced environment, can “roll-up” their sleeves, work diligently, create enthusiasm, and deliver solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

Apply Supply Chain Inventory Management Concepts, such as Safety Stock and Cycle Stock Calculations, and Operations Research Concepts, such as demand optimization and decision analysis, to create demand forecasts and purchase forecasts. Leverage Supply Chain Models to purchase, store, and stock the optimum inventory of parts, equipment, tools, et al. in warehouses and vehicles.

Implement supply and purchasing management with a view of purchase price optimization and internal cost and process handling perspective (make/buy decision making).

Manage the optimization of critical assets like replacement parts, tools, warehouses and other capital equipment.

Setup internal project management workflows to help develop future inventory management decision-making tools.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of inventory from Inventory Flow to Capacity Allocation to Warehouses and returns to OEM’s when necessary.

Forecasting & Planning

Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sales teams to forecast inventory needs based on data and upcoming trends.

Create and maintain inventory forecasts to support business objectives and service levels.

Leadership

Provide strategic guidance to matrixed inventory, warehouse and parts teams across the enterprise.

Collaborate with ERP (GE) team, FP&A team and Operations across the enterprise to lead implementation of best practices.

System Management

Oversee the use of inventory management software and ensure collaboration with Global Edge design and future evolution.

Ensure data integrity within the inventory system and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Vendor Relations

Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective inventory supply.

Negotiate terms with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and delivery schedules.

Reporting & Analytics

Infuse the use of statistical computing languages and version control systems (e.g., Python, R, and Github) to work with large datasets to prepare key inventory management analyses.

Utilize critical Supply Chain metrics to prepare analytical models to identify excess inventory and overstock. Build transparent information exchanges to share accurate inventory health with Operations, Supply Chains, Finance, Accounting, share final recommendations with appropriate teams to initiate promotions, markdowns and clearance.

Own and develop data visualization reports in BI tools on all aspects of inventory management.

Control key inventory health metrics such as in-stocks, safety stocks and vendor fill rates by engaging with Warehouse & Operations Teams.

Other

Drive safety performance by holding members of the team accountable for participation and completion of all corporate safety initiatives.

Achieve compliance with ethical business practices.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in a business-related field or equivalent in education and work experience.

Working knowledge of the commercial food service or related services industry with a focus on service excellence and the competition. Service industry experience is preferred. Proven experience in business planning; development of account sales and relationship management plans with proven results. Proven ability to work in a matrix organization requiring collaborative skills. Demonstrated evidence of insatiable curiosity to craft innovative approaches.

APICS certification – ASCM preferred.

English - oral and written. Spanish is a plus.

2-5 years of inventory and data analytics.

2-5 years of related industry experience.

In-depth working knowledge of Supply Chain and Inventory Management best practices.

Produce presentations to executive level customers and internal stakeholders.

Proficient with data analytical tools and optimization software, as well as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other business software.

Proposal creation and executive summary writing.

Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask and execute work with competing priorities.

Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills.

Willing to travel.
