Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing and leading the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources Department and ensuring efficient coordination and implementation of administrative activities related to the organization’s personnel management strategies. Serving as a member of the organization’s Senior Leadership Team, the Director will help to drive organizational success, establish organizational performance results and will be responsible for developing a high functioning human resources and recruiting team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Partners with the leadership team to develop and implement the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in highly confidential circumstances such as, providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations, and terminations.

Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for executive, managerial, and professional level roles; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for positions.

Develops, implements, and monitors new employee orientation to ensure HR objectives are met and the team member orientation process is in line with organizational values.

Ensures organizational policies and practices are in compliance with applicable state, federal, and local employment laws and regulations.

Develop and implement organizational training in a variety of labor relations related topics including interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.

Manages the organizations HRIS system and all HR processes, and ensure they are compliant with all regulatory standards.

Research and proposes competitive salary and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts qualified and high-quality individuals.

Oversees the organizations disciplinary and investigation process, advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, and provides support in the administration of related policies and procedures.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.

Develop and administer organizational benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

Conduct self in an ethical, professional manner; project a positive self/company/system image.

Adhere to and enforce all organizational policies and safety standards, and ensure all departmental documentation is accurate, complete, and appropriately maintained.

Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

Strong ability to effectively communicate with others; both written and verbal, problem solve, and diplomatically handle escalations and/or conflict resolution.

Self-driven attitude with ability to meet organizational goals.

Strong understanding of full-cycle recruitment processes and best practices and previous experience with HRIS Applicant Tracking Systems.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Ability to maintain flexibility in a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the community.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as needed.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Valid driver’s license.

30% travel is required.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree required.

A minimum of five years of human resource management, within a healthcare organization, experience preferred.

PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Essential Functions:

Physical Demands:

This position requires a frequent amount of time at a stationary desk sitting for up to 8 hours daily with frequent repeating motions that may include wrists, hands, and fingers. Hearing and talking to interpret job functions are frequently required and frequent visual ability to judge distance and space and clarity up to 20 ft. There is minimal hand tool operation and minimal ascending or descending ladders, ramps, or stairs. Occasionally may need to lift pull or pull objects up to 25 lbs. in all directions with a maximum lifting of 50 lbs. there is occasional walking and standing but minimal kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting.

Working Conditions:

The position works in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures to include humidity. Sometimes may be exposed to fumes, grease, or oil and may experience minimal poor ventilation or air circulation. The noise level is frequently quiet with minimal exposure to moving mechanical parts/machines.

Mental/Emotional:

This position is required to frequently meet deadlines, work with changing priorities, and assess the accuracy and completeness of work on a regular basis. Frequently use logic to analyze and problem solve difficult situations and communicate to express or exchange ideas using proper English grammar and spelling. Frequently utilize complex math and reasoning skills for budgeting, analysis, and risk assessment.
