Work Environment:Remote, working 40 hours a week.

Week after Thanksgiving, travel + accommodations will be paid for.Top Skills' Details:3+ years of professional copyediting experience in a fast-paced environmentA degree in English, technical communication, or a related fieldMicrosoft PowerPoint Proficiency (Ability to edit written content and adjust visual content per style guide)Experience editing technical contentJob Description:Copyediting and proofreading for grammar, spelling, punctuation, guideline style, etc., with a high degree of accuracy and without introducing errors or compromising the technical meaningFormatting presentations (e.g., template/colors, spacing, alignment)Reviewing for legal issues (copyright and trademark violations) and branding or messaging violationsAdjusting the level of edit and shifting priorities depending on project length, time allotted, deadlines, and other factorsWorking directly with presenters on last-minute changes to content in high-pressure environmentsPeriodically participating in editorial meetings with editors and successfully completing assigned trainingsAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Experience editing content in the technology sector or computer industryExperience editing content for presentations and/or eventsAdvanced copyediting and proofreading skills and advanced knowledge of grammarStrong attention to detailProficiency with The Chicago Manual of StyleExpert skill level with Microsoft PowerPointDemonstrated customer-service orientationExperience performing legal compliance reviews on contentDemonstrated ability to manage large volumes of work with minimal oversight and under tight deadlinesStrong problem-solving and conflict management skillsAbility to learn and work quickly with high accuracyAbility to perform a reasonable level of self-directed research to make editorial decisionsAbility to discuss edits with content creators in a confident, helpful, and professional manner, knowing when to push back and when to reasonably compromiseWe reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
