About The RoleWe are seeking a strategic and dynamic Senior Director to lead the seamless execution of business-driving strategic initiatives and innovative projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the retail industry, be data-driven, and demonstrate strong operational and financial acumen. Additionally, this individual will excel at fostering cross-functional collaboration.

From Day 1, the Senior Director will significantly impact our productivity by streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and effectively communicating objectives across departments. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a business management role, with a particular emphasis on executive-level advising and cross-functional collaboration.

What You Get To Do Every Day

Partner with key stakeholders across Pricing, Planning, Merchandising, Site Merchandising/Digital, Vendor, Retail, Marketing, Product and Technology teams to define strategic roadmaps, prioritize features and projects based on business impact, and align on functional requirements.

Key projects include: ML and product, condition and copy automation, Dropship, International, Supply initiatives and other LRP strategic projects.

Facilitate effective communication and alignment across departments, ensuring the successful execution of key initiatives and fostering a collaborative environment.

Establish and monitor critical KPIs to measure success and guide decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Oversee cross-functional teams in managing key projects and initiatives, tracking progress, and removing operational roadblocks to ensure timely and successful outcomes.

Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, presentations, and updates for the executive team, clearly communicating progress, insights, and recommendations.

Continuously research market trends and explore new opportunities to develop innovative strategies and programs. Develop robust business cases for new initiatives to drive growth and competitive advantage.

Track and evaluate project performance through detailed business and financial analysis. Provide data-driven recommendations based on KPI insights to inform strategic decisions.

Partner with TRR Operations, Merchandising, Product and Tech teams to streamline processes and drive more efficiencies around product intake, attribution, condition and taxonomy.

Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, consumer trends, and The RealReal's market positioning. Utilize this knowledge to inform strategy and identify new growth opportunities.

Proactively identify and implement improvements in processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus

10+ years of experience in retail strategy, management consulting, or retail product strategy.

Proven track record of developing and executing successful projects and strategies within a retail or tech organization.

Strong leader who can help drive cross functional teams and encourage a high level of ownership/accountability and productivity.

Ability to assess the business based on data and offer insights and recommendations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Ability to quickly establish credibility, trust and respect with peers, business partners, senior leadership

Ability to remain flexible and change strategies as business needs dictate.

Ability to roll your sleeves up in a hands-on environment - being able to zoom out and zoom in.

Ability to travel 30%

The expected salary range for this role is $205,000-$245,000. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
