Job Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This role involves gathering and analyzing data, creating reports and dashboards, and providing recommendations based on data analysis. The BI Analyst works closely with various departments to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that improve business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Use statistical tools and techniques to interpret complex data sets.Reporting and Dashboards: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide stakeholders with clear, actionable insights. Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and meet the needs of the business.Business Collaboration: Work closely with business units to understand their objectives, challenges, and data requirements. Provide data-driven recommendations that support strategic decision-making.Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models that organize data into a structure that supports analysis and reporting. Ensure data models are optimized for performance and scalability.ETL Processes: Develop and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure that data is accurately integrated into the BI systems. Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes to ensure data quality and integrity.Performance Measurement: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to assess business performance. Provide insights on areas of improvement and opportunities for growth.Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to requests for ad hoc data analysis and reporting from stakeholders. Provide quick and accurate insights to support business needs.Data Governance: Ensure that data is managed and used in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve BI processes, tools, and systems. Stay updated on the latest BI technologies and best practices.Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Technical Skills: Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik. Strong knowledge of SQL for querying databases. Experience with data modeling and ETL processes.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present data findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational and time management skills.Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a similar BI or data analysis role.Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), or equivalent.Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
