Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties will include:Leading the traction power team and projects, and the provision of project deliverables.Coordinating the work of the traction power design team on large transit/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phases.Provision of technical and field support in the project construction phase.Liaison with public and private utilities, municipal agencies as required for projects.Writing/editing specifications and selection of equipment for traction power systems and devices.Preparation of PSOS documents and concept designs for alternative delivery projects.Reviewing traction power documents for areas of potential conflict with all disciplines.Coordinating the workload to complete project deliverables on schedule.Conducting QA/QC on the work.Conduct interviews and recommend new hires, and provide staff mentoring.Business development and proposal preparation activities to support new work and marketing activities.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred).15+ years’ experience in traction power design and transit engineering systems. Solid experience with rail systems (intercity, commuter systems, heavy rail, light rail, street car) involving AC/DC traction power contact system design and implementation is required.Strong computer skills with Traction Power software.Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
