The Director of Human Resources is responsible for managing the HR services provided by the Keiser human resources (HR) department. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for:
Employee relations support
Payroll and benefits administration
University recruiting and hiring
Developing and disseminating HR policies
Training and Development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Providing Employee Relations Support:
Advising the Chancellor and executive OOC staff on HR issues
Offering policy interpretation and guidance
Providing support with the performance evaluation process
Managing the time and attendance system
Managing unemployment claims
Training and Development
Payroll and benefits
Employee relations including worker’s compensation and FMLA
Consulting projects/services (policy manuals, job description development)
Managing the human resources information system activities and contract
Participate in the sponsorship process if needed
Developing and Disseminating HR Policies:
Ensuring policy manuals are accurate and up-to-date
Communicating policies and procedures to OOC and campuses
Providing training as necessary
Overseeing University Recruiting and Hiring:
Working with the OOC departments and business units to identify needs
Managing employee applicant tracking system
Assisting with postings and advertising (Indeed, HigherEd.com and LinkedIn as well as other relationships)
Conducting background checks
Overseeing new hire/onboarding process within the HRIS
Providing Training:
New hire training and orientation
Succession Planning
Performance management and progressive discipline
Sensitivity and cultural awareness
The Director of Human Resources oversees the creation and distribution of policy and is responsible for managing an internal staff. The Director should hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, experience working within HRIS and at least 7 years of relevant HR experience. Executive management experience is strongly preferred.
This is an onsite position located at the Office of the Chancellor in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
