Position Overview:

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes within the Firm. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our Firm’s goals, managing payroll and employee benefits, including 401(k) plans, and ensuring that all HR activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. The Director of Human Resources will also enhance the overall employee experience by promoting professional development, engagement, and a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Strategy and Leadership:

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the Firm’s overall strategy.

Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on all HR matters, providing insights and recommendations. Provide monthly reports to key stakeholders regarding strategic HR related matters.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the HR function.

Employee Onboarding:

Design and manage a comprehensive onboarding process for new attorneys and staff members.

Ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the Firm, with a strong understanding of systems, policies, procedures, and Firm operations.

Collaborate with department heads to create tailored onboarding plans that meet the specific needs of each practice group.

Training and Development:

Develop and implement training programs that enhance employees' skills, knowledge, and professional development.

Oversee the training on Firm systems, procedures, and operations for all employees.

Identify and address training needs, ensuring that the Firm remains compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

Promote a learning culture by encouraging ongoing professional development and offering growth opportunities.

Payroll, Benefits Administration, and 401(k) Management:

Oversee the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payments to all employees.

Manage the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) plans, and other Firm-sponsored benefits.

Regularly review and update the Firm's benefits offerings to remain competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.

Coordinate with external vendors to administer benefits and resolve any issues related to payroll or benefits.

Provide guidance to employees on benefits options and 401(k) plan management.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

Foster a positive work environment by developing and implementing employee engagement initiatives.

Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.

Conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee satisfaction and implement improvements.

HR Operations:

Oversee the management of HR records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Manage HR metrics and reporting, providing insights to the leadership team on key HR performance indicators.

Talent Acquisition:

Lead the recruitment process for attorneys and staff, ensuring the Firm attracts top talent.

Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies that align with the Firm’s needs and goals.

Oversee the development and maintenance of job descriptions and performance expectations.

HR Information System (HRIS):

Become an expert in leveraging our HRIS system to take advantage of all the tools and resources we have at our disposal and streamline processes.

Will be responsible for reporting enhancements, working with our vendors or IT as necessary to link our HRIS system with other platforms.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.

Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, payroll, and benefits administration, including 401(k) management.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that drive organizational success.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Process and results driven. Ideal candidates are those who want to streamline processes and can develop best practices and implement accordingly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
