Role Description

At AutoAlert, the Senior Software Business Analyst/Database Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining our database infrastructure, incoming and outgoing data feeds, and applications to support the growth of the business. You will promote a highly available, scalable, and stable data platform in a cloud computing environment. You will contribute to the overall engineering, design, build and high level support of all existing and new Microsoft SQL Server systems. You have high level technical detailed knowledge of SQL server architecture (2014, 2019).

Responsible for database design, normalization and implementationCreate and maintain tables, views, SQL Queries, and stored procedures and develop new ETL processes and data hygiene methods to meet business needsPerform data administration tasks, Backups, DR/Failover, Automation, Monitoring, Maintenance and Tuning TasksTroubleshoot and correct data performance issuesTroubleshoot data correctness issuesResearch new technologies, methodologies, and techniquesScale out and scale up our existing productsMaintain a high level of code integrity by writing clean and testable code and following established lifecycle methodologiesBuild reusable and scalable code using established design patternsCollaborate with other team members and product stakeholdersAssemble and model industry best-practices in order to foster best-in-class software development within and across departmentsOther duties as assigned

Your Experience and Impact

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or other technical discipline preferred7+ years hands-on experience with MS SQL ServerStrong database design and development experience2+ years of Replication, Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, T-SQL Queries and stored proceduresExperience with optimizing database design, analyzing data, queries & DDLAbility to tune Indexes and perform maintenance2+ years experience in various ETL approachesExposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS)Working knowledge of Agile SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)Basic knowledge of Microsoft's Unit Testing Framework using Visual Studio test toolsSkilled at adapting to a fast-paced and quickly changing environment, multi-tasking, and managing competing priorities with multiple deadlinesStrong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
