P2S has an excellent opportunity for a talented electrical engineer to support our electrical studio in our Long Beach office. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience designing Electrical systems for new and existing buildings.
General Responsibilities
Pre-Design Engineering
Review existing as-built drawings.Perform field investigations.Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.Perform feasibility studies.Prepare schematic designs.
Design Engineering
Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.Design lighting selection and controls.Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies.Experience with low voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) systems a plus.
Design Complexity
- Performs routine engineering work applying standard techniques. Performs basic engineering calculations.- Prepares construction estimates and specifications for small size projects.- Can independently create small reports.- Construction Administration: Review submittals.
Position Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Field.Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification is a plus.LEED Accreditation a plus.
Working Knowledge
Microsoft Office Suite.AutoCAD.Revit.California Building Code.National Electrical Code.OSHPD experience is a plus.Net Zero Energy/Carbon experience a plus.
