Summary:The purpose of this position is to lead and manage all aspects of the academic programs of the college including overseeing liberal arts/transfer and career and technical education programs and personnel. Responsible for ensuring a quality learning experience and effective teaching environment that focuses on student success. Partners with district academic deans and college leaders to ensure alignment across the district in academic affairs processes and policies. Serves as a college leader in the development and implementation of the college’s strategic agenda. Focuses on student learning and assessment. Serves as a key member of the college leadership team. Collaborates with college and district colleagues to ensure student enrollment and retention. Understands and respects the diversity of our students and stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties:

Hires, supervises, and evaluates all faculty, adjuncts and academic staff. Coordinates faculty professional development and training. Coordinates new faculty orientation.

Manages all aspects of the academic affairs department for liberal arts/transfer and career and technical education programs including distance learning, developmental education, course scheduling, faculty load and academic calendar; monitors student learning assessment and program review; collaborates with faculty on new program development and program/course revision through the curriculum process; generates academic data and compliance reports; handles student course evaluation, academic disciplinary and complaint processes. Oversees academic budgets for the college. Writes, directs, and monitors the operations and activities of grants and special programs including Perkins. Monitors and creates academic policies and procedures; serves as the educational equity officer and education equity coordinator. Serves as a key team member for business and industry partnerships, coordinates program advisory boards, and maintains relationships with higher education colleagues around the state.

In collaboration with enrollment management and secondary education partners, manages concurrent enrollment programs, develops pathways for high school students, and actively participates in joint initiatives. Participates with maintaining NACEP accreditation.

Organizes, attends or chairs a variety of meetings as required; serves on committees and special projects as assigned; coordinates programs and services as appropriate with other District and college personnel. Coordinates outreach and related activities with other colleges, vendors, school districts, students, community agencies, governmental and private agencies and other outside organizations. Learns and applies emerging technologies and advances skills as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner. Provides leadership in efforts to increase diversity in faculty and staff, to address student achievement gaps, and in the creation of a welcoming and inclusive work and educational environment. Supports the overall success of the District by performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:Master’s Degree and 3 years of administrative experience required. Prefer Doctorate degree and 2-3 years college teaching experience. Community College experience is highly desirable.

Abilities:Knowledge of organizational and college procedures, services, and policies. Knowledge of general office procedures and protocols. Knowledge of grant and financial rules, regulations, laws, and procedures. Knowledge of student due process rules and regulations. Ability to utilize continuous quality improvement processes. Ability to problem-solve student and faculty issues. Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively. Ability to promote initiatives and campus-wide efforts. Ability to develop policies and procedures to be implemented. Knowledge of general supervisory and management procedures. Knowledge of budgeting and accounting fundamentals. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Knowledge of accreditation standards and procedures. Knowledge of regulations surrounding Title IX (Sexual Assault, or Sexual Harassment). Knowledge of instructional design, program outcomes and quality instruction.

Base Wage:$86,600 - $115,000 - actual salary will be based on experience and education.
