Senior Financial Analyst II

to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.As a Senior Financial Analyst II, you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by collaborating across multi-channel teams with new technology platforms to autonomize accounting. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of five people in the Enterprise Divisional Accounting & Reporting COE (center of excellence) with a specialization in Annuity and Life insurance accounting.How you'll help move us forward:Execution of daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting and reporting including processing and review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of results to ensure completeness and accuracy of account balances.

Preparation and review of various financial reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory financial statements, compliance requests, and internal management requests.

Preparation of fluctuation analysis of quarterly results, including presentation of results to management on a quarterly basis and utilization of tools and technology to generate data visualizations and data driven insights.

Preparation of technical accounting transaction and policy memos.

Maintain and support an effective control environment to provide reliable financial reporting.

Support finance transformation initiatives including automation of existing manual processes, business process redesign and acceleration of the accounting close process.

May lead functional teams or projects.

The experience you bring:8+ years of relevant experience.

Solid understanding of financial statement risks and controls.

Strong technical, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to meet and manage responsibilities under tight time frames.

Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Takes a new perspective using existing solutions.

Works independently, receives minimal guidance.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Public Accounting experience a plus.

Experience with Peoplesoft and ARCs a plus.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
