Job Description:

Hiscox is seeking an Underwriting Technician to join our Professional Liability Team in Atlanta. This is an exciting opportunity to support our growing Retail Traded portfolios and work directly with our underwriting solutions team. This new and key role will be instrumental as we scale our business. The Underwriting Technician will collaborate with underwriters and manage various parts of the underwriting cycle.

This role will support the underwriting solutions team by analyzing insurance applications, assessing risk, and providing administrative assistance throughout the underwriting process. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this role will interact with our broker community to facilitate transactions and act as an escalation point.

Duties & Responsibilities:Support underwriters throughout the underwriting account lifecycle, including handling maintenance, quoting, rating renewals, and broker correspondence.Review and analyze professional liability insurance applications to determine eligibility and risk exposure. Build quotes and process binds for underwriters.Assist underwriters in evaluating risks and making informed underwriting decisions.Gather and assess relevant documentation, including loss runs, financial statements, and other supporting materials.Maintain accurate records of underwriting files and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company standards.Communicate effectively with brokers, agents, and clients to clarify information and respond to inquiries.Monitor and track pending applications, renewals, and policy maintenance's/endorsements to ensure timely processing within SLA's.Manage and facilitate the auto renewal portfolio.Act as an escalation point for non-underwriting functions (e.g., Service delivery and BDM groups).Follow up and correspond with brokers to ensure submission accuracy, gather missing information, and process bind orders.Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and underwriting software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Ability to problem-solve with strong time management skills.Self-starter with accountability for their work.Ability to work in a team and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.What We Offer:

Salary: $55,000

Please note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our Atlanta office (Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area) weekly.
