The Regional Sales Manager

responsible for delivering forecasted sales growth and gross profit increase within an assigned region, for ASC and the vendors we represent. The Regional Sales Manager will directly manage the activities of five or more Territory Sales Managers, including ongoing skills training, strategic account level planning, and accountability for sales performance, with a focus on "Delivering Success" to independent pet retailers.

Manages and grows the company business for assigned accounts, as well as oversees accounts assigned to the Territory Sales Managers reporting to him/her.Maintains ongoing, successful relationships with key customers.Oversees all weekly/monthly reporting and interacts regularly with Territory Sales Managers to support them in the field.Works with vendor partners to implement strategic growth plans.Assists Territory Sales Managers to prepare and present sales proposals, including price quotes, credit terms, and delivery commitments.Coaches Territory Sales Managers to improve effectiveness of selling techniques.Assist the Director of Regional Sales in coordinating quarterly/as needed sales meetings.Works with Director of Regional Sales and Territory Sales Managers to develop and conduct education and training programs for the entire sales team, including new employee orientation, field training and core competency-focused training sessions.Collaborates with all other ASC departments to take care of customers.Summarizes monthly sales activity, competitive activity and re-evaluates needs to reach sales goals.Represents ASC professionally and knowledgeably at sales meetings, training seminars, events and trade shows.Prepares sales projections and forecasts by brand, rep, and account.Prepares sales reports and expense accounts as required; monitors Territory Sales Managers' expenses.Uses company tools and programs to gain and grow businessUses Excel, AS400 and other data sources to access and measure performance results.This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list; other duties may be required. Do you have the following qualifications?

Proven ability to effectively manage and develop a sales forceKnowledge and practice of sound selling techniques, including effective negotiation and closing techniquesIn-depth knowledge of company products, pricing and policiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWell-developed presentation skills; can explain products, negotiate price and quantity, answer questions and provide customer service to assigned accountsCustomer-focused; able to communicate and coordinate effectively in all levels of internal and external interactionsStrong organization/time management skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projectsSelf-motivated and results oriented, with proven track record of achieving or exceeding objectives and quotasAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume. Experience applying these to price quotes and quantities of productAbility to write clearly and legibly when taking orders and writing reportsCurrent unexpired driver's license and ongoing good driving recordMust provide proof of current automobile insurance coverageYour education & experience should be similar to:

High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or above in relevant field of study preferredFive years related sales experience and/or training required, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated success in sales or merchandisingExperience in wholesale/retail distribution a plusPet or animal knowledge helpfulIntermediate+ proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel)Working conditions:

Regular travel to customer sites, quarterly/as needed travel for team meetings and sales eventsSubject to weather conditions while driving between customer locationsSome overnight travel requiredReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The required physical abilities to perform this job:

The estimated annualized base salary range for the Regional Sales Manager $125,000-$130,000 with Bonus Opportunities. Animal Supply Company (ASC) compensation is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to role, level, and location. In addition, ASC's pay can vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience for each candidate for the posted position. Included in ASC's total compensation are benefits such as medical, dental, and retirement.
