Accountant

Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position

ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY

The Accountant will have a wide range of responsibilities related to accounting, accounts payables, accounts receivables, payroll, benefits administration, purchasing and more. This individual will work under the supervision of the Accounting Manager to maintain organized accounting processes, systems and adherence to company policies. The Accountant will serve as a main point of contact for all employee questions regarding benefits and will provide staff with ongoing advisement regarding various accounting issues. This person handles sensitive payroll and personal information and must be extremely trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIESReview invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment (3-way matching)Entering bills and processing payments accordinglyEntering daily cash and payment check receiptsReview Timesheets and Enter Payroll Transactions.Bank & Credit Cards ReconciliationPrepare & reconcile general ledger entries.Maintains accounting records by making copies, scanning, and filing documents.Bank deposits and reconciliation.Handle Petty Cash TransactionsReview, Enter, and Reconcile clinic daily cash transactionsReview, analyze and reconcile third party checks, payroll deductions and individual employee registers to ensure accuracy.Prepare and transmit billings to State and County agencies.Generate supporting documentation and schedules for month-end and year-end closing.Prepare status reports and project updates.Assist annual financial auditMaintain employee benefits information, including correct balances of Sick/Vacation accruals in Payroll system, retirement plan, insurance eligibility, and internal & external personnel reports.Conduct new employee verifications and provide employment verifications information when requested.Prepare retirement account reports.Order, distribute & maintain office supplies and equipment.Monitor departmental purchasing.Prepare and organize the accounting department filing cabinets for the new yearSpecial projects and other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field – desiredMinimum 1 year accounting experience or related field - desiredProficiency in Microsoft Office, mainly ExcelFollow up on assignments, show initiative, be self-motivated, and have a strong work ethicPossess strong time management skills, including deadline prioritization of multiple projects with real-time timelines for assignmentsIs committed to producing accurate and high-quality workCan be trusted to handle extremely confidential and sensitive informationProfessionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.Must have reliable transportation
