Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will help prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to maintain our financial records.

Responsibilities:

The Staff Accountant performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.

Staff Accountant will conduct mid-level general-ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct errors made by internal and external personnel.

Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and assists in the monthly close.

Staff Accountant will reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verifies and posts deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.

Prepare payments by accruing expenses and assigning account numbers when needed.

Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.

Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

About You:

If you have these attributes:

Advanced Excel Skills (must know modeling)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively

Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and Sage Intacct software.

Experience with multi entity / consolidations

And this background:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.

At least two - three years of related experience required.

Full cycle accounting

Knowledge of the processes and documents necessary to produce financial statements for a reporting period.
