Staff Accountants

Staff Accountant
will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Staff Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organizationPrepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statementsMaintains the general ledgerCodes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly booksReconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banksReconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collectionsVerifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accountsProvides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual auditFiles tax forms with federal, state, and local government agenciesCoordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting softwareManages the purchasing and invoicing systemMaintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and proceduresPerforms other related duties as assignedStaff Accountant Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailKnowledge of general financial accounting and cost accountingUnderstanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principlesAbility to correctly prepare tax reportsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting softwareStaff Accountant Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, requiredAt least three years of related experience requiredStaff Accountant
