Job Summary:The Staff Accountant is an entry-level position that will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organizationPerform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accountsAssist with the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reportingSupport the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and other reporting packagesReconciles bank accounts daily, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banksProvides backup support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual auditAnalyze financial data and provide insights to managementEnsure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and proceduresAssist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as neededMaintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailKnowledge of general financial accountingUnderstanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principlesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting softwareEducation and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another related field requiredMinimum of 1 year of related experience requiredPhysical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerAble to lift up to 15lbs at timesOther:Job descriptions prepared by the Company serve as an outline only.
