Due to an internal promotion, we are searching for a Director of Marketing for the Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. This position is responsible for actively promoting the Stevens Point Area as the premier destination for events, activities, and functions that help further the mission of the Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Through tourism promotion, you will have a direct impact in sustaining the tourism economy and the community’s overall economic vitality. The mission of the Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (SPACVB) is to lead the region's tourism industry and aggressively market the Stevens Point Area as an attractive destination for leisure and business travel in order to create a positive economic impact and, thus, enhance the area's quality of life.

What you will do!

The Director of Marketing is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of the Bureau’s marketing, working directly with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to meet SPACVB’s mission and goals.

Serve as the marketing lead for content, data, and project management to ensure a consistent brand; including but not limited to planning, development, implementation, and measurement of marketing strategies, communications, public relations, promotional, and social media-related activities.

Support the Executive Director and Director of Partnerships to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, partners, industry partners, and the public. Oversee the development and implementation of support materials as they align with the destination’s brand.

Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of the organization’s marketing, communications, and PR program to enhance the destination’s image with the public.

Develop strategies for effective marketing programs -and corresponding annual marketing budget- with an objective to increase overnight visitors, including traditional, digital, and promotions resulting in maximum return on investment.

Provide editorial and design direction for all organizational publications and digital presence, to ensure consistent communication of the destination brand across all channels and constituencies (internal and external).

Serve as brand manager to oversee brand standards and coordinate the appearance of all print and electronic materials as dictated by the brand guidelines.

Plan and implement all marketing efforts including but not limited to:

Public Relations & Media Outreach

Write and distribute editorial suggestions, press releases, and story ideas

Oversee the strategy and the creation of copy and content

Pitch media stories about the area, including all markets

Develop itineraries and host media, content creators, and/or familiarization trips

Monitoring media and collecting all press clippings

Digital & Print Media

Serve as point of contact for all in-house content creation, including as editor of the Visitors Guide and all other branded collateral

Oversee the planning, implementation, and editorial for all digital channels including social media, promotions, blogs, and e-mail

Research, purchase, and oversee development of media buys, publications, websites, and enhancement projects

Digital Assets

Maintain and organize the destination’s photo database

Oversee all acquisition of photography and video, including coordinating vendors and shoots, in addition to UGC assets

Provide media libraries, as needed, for media and other organizations

Research and identify key strategic partners for analytics, media buying, CRM, website development, and others as needed.

Manage outside vendors on behalf of the organization as the primary point of contact, as needed, including web developers, software, and technical programs.

Serve as a database manager to provide in-office training and oversight of the SPACVB’s database system. Ensure compliance with GDPR and privacy policies.

Work with the Executive Director, staff, and outside vendors (when applicable) to identify KPIs to be used for internal and industry benchmarks. Monitor and report data to provide insight to maximize return on investment for all marketing initiatives.

Regularly review results of all marketing efforts, measure results, and assess data insights and research to ensure they align with strategy, goals, and objectives. Represent the SPACVB positively at various events locally and nationwide, whether it is a local business function, conference, or tradeshow, as assigned.

Support the Executive Director to support and maintain positive relationships between the SPACVB and area community and industry organizations.

Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Information Center including answering phones and greeting and assisting walk-in visitors.

Assist in other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly manage the activities of all interns, part-time, and select full-time staff marketing personnel, to oversee all project work completed on behalf of SPACVB.

Pay: $47,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
