Duties:
Be responsible for recruiting, training, and directing all musicians for the worship service and special services/activities.
Give solo vocal performances with accompaniment for the Community service and any other chaplain-approved special service/activities with satisfactory vocal proficiency.
Direct choir members at weekly rehearsals and performances for the worship services and any chaplain-approved special service/activity.
Unlock the chapel before rehearsals/services and secure the chapel afterwards. Ensure that all music stands, microphones, microphone stands, and cords are set up and put away after all services and/or rehearsals.
Ensure the instruments are returned to their secured and/or covered position.
Arrange, maintain, coordinate, select, and prepare PowerPoint and Song Show Plus; order and purchase all related literature, music, and equipment, as well as coordinate with other musicians and choir/praise team directors.
Coordinate all music selections, arrangements, soloists, and special service/activity requirements with the Service Chaplain prior to the rehearsal for the following Sunday service.
Coordinate roles/participation and activities of all musicians, praise team members, and guest performers.
Qualifications/Education:
The applicant should have a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience as a choir director and instrumentalist.
The applicant shall have a minimum of three (3) years' experience performing vocal solos.
The applicant shall be able to read and play music.
