Tax Manager
Flex schedule - 3 days per week in officeDallas, TX$130k-$140k DOE + BonusOne of Vaco's publicly traded clients is looking to add a Tax Manager to join their growing team. This role involves overseeing tax operations and compliance, managing relationships with tax service providers, and ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax returns. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in tax management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with executive leadership.Responsibilities:
Lead all tax-related activities, including managing third-party tax service providers.Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns, estimates, and extensions.Manage tax provision calculations, including reconciling tax accounts and preparing income forecasts.Ensure compliance with US and Canada indirect taxes and provide guidance on international VAT issues.Handle month-end close processes, including entries and account reconciliations.Lead the R&D credit process both domestically and internationally.Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and tax planning to minimize liability.Represent the company during tax audits and manage responses to tax notices.Monitor changes in tax laws and ensure company compliance across jurisdictions.Research tax issues and communicate findings clearly.Implement process improvements and other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; M.S. in Accounting or MBA preferred.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.Extensive experience in federal, state, and international tax concepts.Proven tax provision experience in diverse jurisdictions.7+ years in public accounting or a corporate environment.Strong project management and process improvement skills.Excellent communication, team-building, and planning abilities.Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus.Company offers:
