Summary : Our technology client is seeking a Business Unit Controller to join their team. The Business Unit Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a specific business unit. This includes managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, developing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Business Unit Controller will work closely with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the accounting operations of the business unit, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior management.Monitor and analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.Supervise accounting team responsible for revenue and cost of sales accounting process including deferred revenue during monthly close process.Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and standards.Identify and mitigate financial risks within the business unit.Assist with the annual external audit process and provide timely support and responses to audit requests.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Ensure the team delivers high-quality and timely financial services.Work closely with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives.Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.Act as a liaison between the business unit and the corporate finance team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
