Our tutoring programs are proven to increase student success.JOB SUMMARYThe Tutor Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the Small Group Tutoring Program and Large Group Tutoring programs. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of LSS, the Tutor Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and coordination of tutoring programs, which includes leading the selection, hiring, training and supervision of undergraduate tutors (100-150 undergraduate tutors).APPOINTMENT INFORMATIONBudgeted Salary:

Full benefitsSchedule Information:Full-time, FixedPercentage of Time: 100%, 40 Hours per WeekDays of the Week: Mon-FriShift Includes: Days, Evenings, WeekendsJOB DUTIES80% - Tutor Program CoordinatorDelivers academic programs to students via LSS academic support programs.Coordinates the hiring, supervision and evaluation process for all LSS tutors.Implements established policies for the Tutoring program.Assists in the development of new policies in conjunction with the Assistant Director of LSS.Leads the implementation and maintenance of the center's tutor sign-up system TutorHub.Mentors and creates appropriate Training opportunities aimed at developing tutors as equity-minded peer educators.Conducts observations of tutors throughout the quarter.Regularly analyzes the utilization of LSS programs.Assists in measuring the impact of all tutoring programs on the academic success of the students who use the service.Uses TutorHub to provide accurate data about the tutoring program.Works alongside the Assistant Director to identify common pedagogical needs in academic disciplines.20% - Establishes and Maintains Partnerships with Organization Departments and UnitsServes as a liaison to academic departments and other student service units.Represents LSS at meetings as required.Works closely with EOP, DRC, STARS, and other student support service programs at UCSC.Develops and implements appropriate outreach methods to invite students to use services.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Cultural competency skills.Prior experience with collaborative learning or peer-based learning models (at least 2 years).Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop academic student employees.Outstanding oral and written communication skills.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTSelected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.Ability to work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation.Ability to work overtime including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.EEO/AAThe University of California is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
