POSITION TITLE:
IT Intern

REPORTS TO:
Director of Technology
DURATION:
6 months
POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of the IT Intern role is to support the IT department's operations. This is done through a variety of tasks related to network management, system maintenance, and project implementation. The IT Intern will have the opportunity to engage with different facets of IT operations, contribute to critical projects, and collaborate with experienced IT professionals. This role serves as a key element in maintaining the department's service-focused approach, all while providing the intern with valuable, real-world experience in information technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.Organize and maintain IT resources.Lend IT support in areas such as cybersecurity, data management, and IT infrastructure.Support the setup of hardware and software.Test new technology and systems to help improve our IT solutions.Assist in software and hardware upgrades.Provide assistance in managing network configurations.Contribute to the creation of new procedures and documentation to improve the IT process.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, which includes having a broad understanding of hardware and software, operating systems, and basic computer programming.Familiarity with SQL, Python, Ruby or PHP is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills.Good communication skills, both written and verbal.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Able to work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.Able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of computer equipment.
