Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and/or controlling all aspects pertaining to classroom technology. Manage interactive video conferencing classrooms at both campuses, manage network accounts, manage and schedule upgrades to computer hardware and software applications for classroom technology. Manage issues and maintain classroom performance through regular maintenance and updates as necessary. Ensure that classroom spaces operate effectively and troubleshoot any issues quickly to ensure minimal learning disruption. Act as a collaborating member of the division team.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain classroom technology for Salt Lake City campus.
Timely troubleshoot any IVC technical problems related to either video quality or sound quality and work with Salt Lake City staff to resolve.
Maintain a system log for the IVC classrooms at both campuses.
Provide faculty leadership with timely updates and proposed solutions for any technology or classroom issues or disruptions.
Perform information systems and AV equipment support and development in multiple areas, including but not limited to data storage and control, software applications training, and data coordination.
Manage network security and infrastructure in accordance with University policies and procedures, including student data security.
Liaise with the appropriate faculty teams to ensure classroom technology operates effectively through all phases of the curriculum, including lectures, labs, return visits, etc.
Work with vendors to timely repair or replace IVC video or audio components as needed to ensure minimal disruption to the classroom.
Follow University protocol for retiring old equipment.
Periodic exam proctoring.
AV system support through contractual assignments with UEN.
Remotely cover St. George campus as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
