The headings in this Job Description are for convenience only.POSITION SUMMARYMonitors job progress and update the status of them in the Planning/Production Control systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described. Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.Monitor job progress and update the status of them in the Suretrak/Primavera projects assignedMonitor the status of major materials/equipment and update the status of them in Suretrak/Primavera projects assignedInterfaces with Project Manager, Purchasing, and various crafts in the yard to insure correct status.Analyzes schedule information providing progress and possible impacts to the Planning/Production Control Manager.Take progress photos and annotate the photo filesWork with payroll on time charge and job cost issues along with work order availability and discrepancies.Work with Project managers/craft superintendents to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on Production control/job cost matters.Assist the Planning/Production Control Manager and others with various research projects and/or special projects. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Job RequirementsREQUIREMENTSEducation/Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in business administration, shipyard trade, or a related field, plus one or more years experience in an administrative/clerical position, shipyard trade; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in Surtrak/Primavera software or other types of planning/scheduling software is a plus. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook Express. Ability to read and understand drawings/sketches, technical data, specifications, detail schedules, and labor hour reports. The ability to formulate spreadsheets and workbooks. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees including ESG Management. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This job operates in a professional office environment, on vessels under construction, and throughout workshops. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Physically able to move in and around the vessel under construction and throughout workshops to verify status.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
