About Our AgencyThe South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) is the state agency that plans, develops, coordinates, and funds services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of:intellectual disability and related disabilitiesautism spectrum disordertraumatic brain injuryspinal cord injury and similar disabilityJob ResponsibilitiesResponsible for installation, maintenance, repairs, moves, re-configuration, and upgrades of personnel computers, computer hardware, VDI equipment, printers, software, and PC peripherals at DDSN Central Office and remote locations as needed including but not limited to: Desktops, laptops, tablets, virtual clients, printers, cellular devices, landline phones, VoIP phones, digital signage, meeting room technology, etc. . Perform on-site and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions.

Responsible for the management of the agency's VoIP phone support. The duties include ordering new and replacement phones, name changes, special phone system request, etc. Deployment of desktop and cordless phones within Central office and regional centers. Creating and maintaining documentation of equipment along with support documentation for admin team and end user.

Support existing and new network cabling such as Ethernet, phone, or fiber. Coordinate with vendors and network team to resolve issues.

Supports all DDSN enterprise software. Provides training when needed.

Ensure proper inventory and documentation of tickets and agency assets. Be an effective mentor to tier 1 and 2 technicians for continual staff development.

Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications

Moderate knowledge of and skill in using a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in customer organizations. Moderate complex problem-solving skills. Moderate complex analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with customers, peers, and management. Knowledge of security practices.Additional Comments

Immunization:

If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a (2) step PPD testing or QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

State Disaster Plan
