Job Summary
Provide psychiatric care to eligible Purdue students, in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Psychiatry Services Director at Counseling and Psychological Services. Responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations and providing psychotropic medication management services. Work collaboratively with therapists and care managers providing care to students. Engage in regular consultation and collaboration with campus colleagues, such as medical providers at the Purdue Student Health Center (PUSH), and serve as an educational resource to the campus community.
This is a 9 month, academic year position.

Education and Experience:Required:
Masters or Doctorate NP degree, Indiana NP licensure, and PMHNP-BC certification (or equivalent, such as PMHCNS-BC)Must be eligible for or have current Indiana prescriptive authority and DEA registrationPreferred:
Three (3) years or more of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitionerExperience treating college students/young adultsSkills:
Required:
Ability to conduct psychiatric initial evaluations and follow-up medication management appointments and engage in case conceptualization to inform treatment planning, including the ability to make decisions regarding urgency of treatment needs should referral to crisis services be indicatedInterest and experience related to diversity, social justice, and advocacy, including knowledge and skills to promote effective engagement with students from diverse backgroundsSkills and interest in outreach and consultationKnowledge of, and adherence to, ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice, including confidentiality requirementsIndependent judgement and discretionExcellent written and oral communication skills, including those required to effectively document in an Electronic Health RecordAbility to function well as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary treatment teamAbility to relate well to students, other CAPS staff, colleagues in other departments, faculty, and campus partnersAdditional Information
